Around 650 Running River Rainbowfish bred at Uni of Canberra all made it up to James Cook Uni safe and sound. Jason Schaffer from TropWATER took good care of them. Michael Jones did all the hard work raising and sending them, thanks MIchael! Here are a couple pics of Jason getting the fish into their ponds. Thanks Jason for your help too! These fish will be further on-grown at JCU before being released in late Spring to establish a couple new populations in tributaries to Running River which will hopefully ensure the continuation of this species in the wild. More fish are being bred at UC and will be shipped up to JCU once they get a little bigger.
