(edited) With this species some might get it confused with "Pappan Creek". There is also a "Peppan Creek". They are all part of the Mission River on the west coast of Cape York Peninsula. The major population settlement is Weipa in the west of the catchment. Weipa is located on a peninsular formed by the Mission River in the north and the Embley River in the south. This is an image of Peppan Outstation: And this an image of the creek at Peppan Outstation: And above is the original Pappan Creek trifasciata! Adrian Just a little trivia: In Australia will call what Americans call a ranch - a Station i.e. Cattle Station. An Outstation is a part of a "Station" that is on the "outer reaches of the Station" - Outstation. I suspect that the Peppan Outstation was part of a Cattle property that no longer exists. Probably one of the many failed "Stations" in the region. Some of these lands can be very unforgiving when it comes to "drought and flooding rains" :-)
