SOLD, thanks
Rhadinocentrus ornatus – “Searys Creek” – My pond raised summer fish. Unsexed ¾-1 inch in length. 8/$45. I have 4-5 groups available. SORRY Shipping ONLY TO lower 48 states. Some of the males are red and blue like the males in the photo and some are mostly blue. I only used my two red and blue males for breeding in the pond this year but a few of the offspring still come out blue. See photo for most likely outcomes for males. 2 lb Priority is $13 or less. Express is $45. I am pretty confident that Priority will be all you need and that’s really what I recommend. I shipped these two weeks ago and they took four full days to get to their destination because they got lost and all were fine. Shipping in breather bags so you know not to float breather bags when you get them. Even with colder temps we shouldn’t have any problems UNLESS it is getting below freezing where you are. I can add a heat pak if that is the case for an extra $1. These fish are hardy though at lower temps so shipping now should be fine. I will be shipping with Styrofoam and/or Styrofoam boxes.
Rhads are more like Pseudomugils in some ways than the normal rainbowfish. A ten gallon will work but better with a 2’ tank (15-20 gallons). I like to keep them between 70-80. They really don’t seem to like higher temps. They tend to do better if you are feeding live or frozen foods. They will survive on flake and such but you won’t get a lot of egg production. At this size live baby brine is great, freeze dried mysis (Brine Shrimp Direct) as well as frozen cyclops (BSD). As adults frozen brine shrimp, the smaller blood worms and of course live blackworms if you have them available. Freezed dried mysis is still a favorite of the adults too. Breed like bows in a floating mop. Easy to just move the mop. Fry the same way as other bows.
It’s Tuesday night. If I get your email tonight and then your Paypal after I confirm, I can ship tomorrow otherwise they will be shipped out next Monday. Send requests to my email addy. Gwlange(at)sbcglobal(dot)net If you can’t figure out how to change the addy to work well then no fishies for you :-).
