Just saw the post about other rainbowfish forum sites which was posted on the facebook page. Like many people i have scoured the internet for information sites and have joined several other rainbowfish forums , my personal experience is not a great one , on one site over a hundred people have read my new introduction post yet not one person responded, other new members were experiencing the same warm welcome with there questions going unanswered even with dozens of views , i did pm a few people and suggested they would be better joining our sister facebook group where at least you will get a responce and a welcome. Just seems a shame that new enthusiastic rainbow fish keepers are probably feeling ignored and may give up trying to make contact with like minded people. I have stopped visiting a few sites as its almost pointless posting anything 😔 luckily i found this group 😁

Thanks Alex. The way people use the internet has evolved a lot over the years. Forums are used more as a resource and not so much for communication/personal interaction. Everyone's on facebook these days, and are looking for quick answers to quick questions. We try to keep up, but things fall down the feed on there too. So, we keep this forum going to "park" articles for reference, and for the few who are online but not on facebook Feel free to ask anything you may think of, here or on the groups....if someone doesn't know, we can probably find someone who does. Thanks for the feedback.

The page views you are seeing are more likely to be search bots than actual people.

Thanks for the feedback. I agree about how people are using the internet differently these days and facebook has taken over from the old style forums. i guess just from an information resource point of view the older non facebook sites are still useful . I don't use facebook but im quite happy to be able to read through the posts and see some brilliant pictures of rainbows and other peoples set ups. 😁

As Lori said. the forums are a good place to park your info. The place you want for interaction are the facebook groups. over 2,000 members on rainbowfish aquarium and the top bow people in the world hang there.also a new blue-eye group along with angfa and various similar sites. its great to jump around there and meet the best of the best

Just an FYI, the views shown on this forum are "true".....but again, a lot of people are looking for info, following conversations, not looking to post. We have quite a few visitors daily, and guests can view the articles and posts without having to sign up. I don't worry about the number of members we have on here, as I know people are utilizing this resource; so we keep it going

My experience with FB groups is that the responses you get can't really be fully trusted. I much prefer the more thoughtful and informed replies I get from forums. MTC :-)
