These guys are native to the Aru islands between Australia and New Guinea. They can grow to almost six inches, but they normally cap out at around four. They are easy to care for and are excellent aquarium fish. They grow very fast and are extremely productive breeders. They are extremely difficult to photograph due to the huge array of colours they show. These guys really do live up to the name "rainbowfish" by showing every colour of the rainbow. The display is amazing because all the scale margins turn black offsetting the amazing colours (and making every picture look photoshopped), and the spawning stripe turns light pink.
